The secret you might not remember when you need it most
Most wallets rely on something we know.
Something we’re expected to remember.
A password.
A PIN.
It works. But it comes with risks.
Because that secret has to live somewhere.
In our memory.
Or written down.
And over time, that becomes fragile.
We lose track of it.
Or forget where we put it.
If we lose it, and the seed phrase is also lost,
there's no way back.
Every time we use it, we expose it.
On a screen.
On a keyboard.
Not necessarily to an attacker online,
but also to someone nearby.
Biometrics try to solve this.
We don't need to remember anything.
We don't need to type anything.
Nothing appears on screen.
That makes daily access
not just faster,
but safer.
But only while we're already inside.
The moment we reinstall the app,
switch phones,
or start from scratch…
biometrics disappear.
That's when access gets complicated.
Because most of the time,
we've been using biometrics.
Not our password.
So when we need it again,
we might not remember it.
Or where we stored it.
This is where a single point of failure becomes real.
And in crypto,
that can mean losing access to funds.
HASHWallet takes a different approach.
It's a cold wallet where access doesn't depend on one secret.
Instead, it uses things we already have:
Our email.
Our phone.
Accessing the app requires:
the email address
and a verification code,
sent to the phone or to the email.
No single element becomes a dead end.
Access depends on things we already use.
Of course, this comes with trade-offs.
Using an email as part of access
means it needs to be properly secured.
That’s why we recommend using a dedicated email,
only for your cold wallet,
with 2FA enabled.
This reduces common attack paths
and protects against the kind of mistakes
that happen over time.
There's no denying that passwords feel like control,
and control feels like security.
Being the only one who knows it.
The only one who holds it.
But over time, that can become a weakness.
Because if we don't use our password for a while,
it slips away.
Time passes.
Life changes.
Things we were sure we'd never forget,
fade away.
That's why we designed access to outlast time.
So it remains safe,
even when things don't go as planned.
